without regular servicing any caliper will become less efficient, and with it the standard SV one is more than capable, seems a lot of faff over nothing.
Unless of course you just want a gold one ![]() Cheers Mark.

It also has coated pistons, and is anodised throughout, meaning massively reduced corrosion and chance of seizure

which is of immense benefit if you don't regularly service it

Makes job easier if you do regularly service it too.

it snot the same AT ALL!!! the pistons are bigger, better seals. Much better way of changing the pads.. More and better pades made for the GSXR 1000 rears than the crap SV calliper.. better anite squile sims.
only ones that are GOld are from the K2 in red black and Silver all others are BLACK! The braking is better.. having had 2002 Sv650s for 10 years and 2001 track bike for 5 years.. GSXR k2 -k5- and now k9, working and modding bikes befor i could walk.. am not after Silly and pointless comments from people who clearly have no idea what they are talking about.. If you have nothing good to say DONT!... For anyone who wants a diff caliper that gives better performance this is a VERY good CHEAP! mod thats a simple bolt off and bolt on.. no modding other than to take the old one off put new one on.. |

I know this is going away from what you post was saying but.
Back brake... whats that for.... just a racers view. lol. Front end, braking wavey discs, performance friction pads, Goodridge Braided Lines, Silkoline Race fluid.... mint. Back end, Stock caliper, stock pads, stock disc. Its only on so my bike will pass scrutineering. ![]() Just my opinion. But 90% of the bikes braking sould be done by the front. Only good use for a back brake is for very slow manovering, or filtering. Or keeping the front end down at Cadwell. |
