Easy choice! - Street Triple. Not sure what this unreliability you speak of is. I have an 06 675 which hasn't skipped a beat!

Fair enough Bri. I can understand that the Viffer might be a bit more bike than you need. Have you considered an Sv650? Quite light and got a bit more punch low down.

True - its bigger than most of the other bikes I mentioned, which I thought may be worth mentioning as Bri is on the large side (by his own admission). Its not often I think of a bike as being too small, but the street triple and Z1000 gave me that impression (possibly unfairly in the triumphs case, as I swapped from 1050 straight onto the 675 for a service).

Hmm, time for a custom built special I feel. I hear good things about engines from Big CC racing and a Spondon frame would look beautiful, especially with a turbo hanging out the side.
You know that you want to really. ![]() If not, I love the Z, such a lovely looking bike... ![]() |

Not really unfair, my 675 is irritatingly small, maddening on long trips as there's no place to put anything.

small would be good. I'm 5'10" but with an inside leg of 26"

Same legs as me then. Bulk doesn't seem to give you a clue as to how tall or wide bikes are these days - I managed OK getting a B-King off the sidestand and getting feet down comfortably, despite it looking as wide as it is tall (and if you find a demonstrator for it, PM me - I want to ride one).

Z750 - standard shock has been fine with 15.5 st on it - done 20k miles+ on it.
5'8", 29" inside leg I still love my Zed ![]()

No he really shouldn't have!
![]() I see that an SV650 has been mentioned already and I wouldn't discount one Brian, either a naked or a faired one with the comfort kit like Claire has. I totally understand the need for a low seat and light weight, so perhaps the Triumph is the best bet for you. You seemed keen on it in the car last night. Hope you've had a lovely day bike hunting. ![]() |
