Alpinestar do a nice vented summer jacket, dragging or icon jeans are also a good bet. Would never go for a hoon in that though as there's not enough impact protection.

Mesh Jacket and pants. Get ones with good joint protection. I use tourmaster venture with removable liners removed, but there's all sorts available. I ride in the US where the temps are in the mid 30s now. One trick is to wear a T shirt under the textiles but keep it wetted down - carry a water bottle for that and for keeping yourself cool. The evaporative cooling is just like having your own built in air-conditioning. The waterproof layers dont take up much space in case of an unforseen downpour.

IM in Germany at the moment, temps are high 30's at the moment, 38 at its highest today... I still would not go out without protective gear on... no chance, its just not worth the risk.

Elmpt? In a rural area...with probably a dry climate
That is completely different from a mediterranean metropole of 1.600.000 habitants, a two times stronger sun and high humidity.

Of course I would wear leathers if I would go out for a ride in countryside.
But in the city of barcelona.....

Thats a good advice!
The only thing is that I use the motor here for transport (going to work takes me 1.15h. in the metro to get there and 20 minutes on the motorbike)
Your solution takes more effort but it is absolutely worth it.

30deg? I'd say bring on the rain, and the waterproofs would stay at home.

Wear what your comfortable in, if your overheating, sweating, uncomfortable your more likely to loose focus and have an accident. First line of defence on your bike has to be maintaining composure and focus.

I can't recommend kevlar reinforced denims enough, I use them more often than not and the choice of brands just keeps getting bigger. Just got a new pair with knee armour for £69 the other week. They came with pockets for hip armour that are perfect for some Hien Gerricke soft armour I happened to have lying around. My denims actually have better armour than my leathers now!
