I'm on holiday again!

I'm now the proud owner of a RYA level 2 certificate

Bosuns can be a good laugh once you know how to get the best out of them.

Bit heavy (rumour was that they were designed to be dropped off the side of a frigate) but I used to be able to coax them up on to the plane with a bit of a breeze.

I used to race them for the Naval Reserve - mainly at Whale Island in Portsmouth and Millbank Docks in Plymouth, but also sailed in Falmouth and Dartmouth a few times. Still got a few trophies somewhere.

I first learnt to sail when I was at infants school - my grandfather had a huge house by the side of the River Hamble, and was an instructor. My dad owned (and still owns) about 100 moorings on the river that he lets.

Despite this, I have never done a formal RYA course so have no certificates
