Other thing to watch out for is when buying an oval can, the spacing may be the same but the angle the can ends up may be different. Looked at getting a can from a 2001 Blade for my 99 and although it would fit, the angle of the logo etc wouldn't be correct. No probs with a circular can as you can just rotate the end piece obviuously if you are poping the rivets anyway.

for future reference for anyone else, i bought a ZRX1100, had to bore the holes out to 10mm on the system as the holes to the can didn't quite line up

also its not very loud with the can off

Hmmm... interesting - the two I've bought have fitted straight on.

What make was the can you bought? And was it off of a ZRX1100, or sold as for a ZRX1100?
