Bought this a few months ago and it's brilliant. I used to hate it when it rained in the morning because of the faff of putting over trousers and jacket on; much easier now and 100% waterproof ![]() |

The BMW stuff is stupidly expensive but seems pay it self off. I've got a Joffama (Halvarssons) Codura 2 peice which is relatively waterproof and got a over suit which is the same stuff as the Highways waterproofs Like so http://www.arco.co.uk/products/18902...ouser%20Orange ![]()

I have Duchinni textile trousers that havent let any water in and are very warm during the winter and a cordura jacket, that is waterproof and keeps me mostly dry apart from round the neck (in torrential rain). Both very good and relatively inexpensive (compared to some waterproof gear)

As a fairly new guy to biking ive been really unimpressed by the quality of kit on offer. Name branded stuff has always been poor (alpinestars) so i have got things based on my gut things i can recommend are the old frank Thomas aqua force textiles. These were fab if only they fitted me better. Would have rarther crashed in them above anything i can find in a shop these days and it had a Gore-Tex lining! All in for about 100 quid second hand and worth every penny!
I currently have a richa multi jacket and trousers as well as the monsoon trousers (for sale if you want em) all have been tested in stupid conditions and are waterproof. However the jacket has a silly removable waterproof lining. I thought it was a good idea at first but it isn’t (i have leathers for summer so no point in me having a summer textile jacket really) Things i would stay away from. Cheap textiles, ok i say cheap but i paid 80 quid for 2 pairs of richa textile (tolerdo or something. thats each) and they don’t have a membrane but instead rely on a DWR (durable water repellent) coating on the outer fabric. This basically causes the water to bead off. Ok for things like a ski jacket in all honesty but when your on a bike the air pressure can just force the water into the fabric. Best thing is its going to happen first where its creased so your arms and crotch! What a ballache! Btw not all membranes are created equal. Goretex has a much higher “head” than things like sympatex, ressia etc thus if your riding full pelt in the rain a lot its your best bet. It is bloody pricy though! If your going to get a cheap oversuit for summer showers i use a pacamac. There cheap and can be used for other things. Not 100% but will keep your leathers dry for a few miles. Not got much experience regarding oversuits though? |

I use my mums old Berghaus waterproof trousers and jacket. I pinched them becuase she said they had lost their waterproof qualities. I've never had a drop come through them though!
In summary, I fully recommend parents cast off dog walking garments for motorcycling |
