my brothers duke was really bad with rust as some clown disconnected the filler drain hose from the filler neck. i emptied the tank of the water/petrol then removed the loose rust by hand with cloths. emptied 1/2 bottle of rust eater and swirled around then left overnight, repeated swirling the next day then left till rust eater had evaporated (mostly). once everything was dry'ish i sloshed some petrol round and emptied contents.
the tank has not leaked in 2 years. |
