on your police motorcyclist course your instructed that any braking from 20 and under is to be done by using the rear brake(unless emergency stop then both front and rear) so since then thats what I do

![]() ![]() i've seen so many people actually cause lock ups by being rear brake happy. You could quite happily take mine off and I wouldnt notice ![]() Stu I have a worse example of when to use the rear brake, a guy I knew who fancied himself as a bit of trackday demon said use the back brake to control the rear when backing it in ![]() |

I use it quite a bit at lower speeds and drag it for slow control. When I first started riding the SV I used the rear brake with the front all the time, on my CG125 the rear brake was more powerful than the front...

Use mine all the time - noticed how much when I switched back to the SV from the Zed (Zed had ABS).
No mishaps, but a couple of locks, but its all good ![]()

Very very rarely. Maybe when stopping at lights or something but during normal road or track riding I don't go anywhere near it. On the track, the only reason it's there is for the scrutineers!

Always use it really, as had been said, its much smoother. Most of my braking is done by the engine!
Engine braking does sound much better. |
