Prior to myself it was a commuter, so the bike often went a fortnight without a clean. Very little corrosion anywhere, so I lucked out there.

I should have put the current spec.

Beowulf Oval Exhaust
Fender Extender
Rear Hugger
Double Bubble Screen

What shocks from other bikes drop straight into the SV? Obviously I'm only interested in shocks that are an upgrade, not a downgrade

gsxr shocks are most common. think the zx7 ones fit as well if my memory serves me.

tail tidys are another good one to do, if it hasnt got one.

Yeah, strip it down to its component parts, throw away the front end, clocks, rear shock, foot controls, most of the braking system and all the bodywork. Cut big lumps off the rear subframe. Rewire the front loom. Then what you wanna do..... Err actually, I'm not the best person to ask am I?

Here you go. Everything you wanted to know about rear shocks but were afraid to ask.

Life has been getting in the way. I'll hopefully get some work done this week.

Anyway, apologies to the OP for the derail and back on topic...

You've got the main practical mods done for you and your aftermarket can to release the noise. I'd ride it for a bit and see what you think.

In terms of suspension, I'd refresh the oil in the forks if it hasn't been done for a while and see how you get on with it. The SV is a pretty good handling bike IMO so you might not want more. If you decide you do then there's plenty of advice available on here.

For the time being, just buy petrol and pray to your deity for better weather.

Pretty much nothing worthwhile is a straight drop-in replacement on the curvy as they all have remote reservoirs that want to be where the battery box is. Fitting involves cutting the battery box and raising or relocating the battery depending on the shock.
