Even with a brand new battery it's worth charging. Otherwise it'll never reach it's full efficiency.

I'd be inclined to take it back and ask for a new battery with acid for you to put in.

My Datatool will flatten the battery if the bike is not used for over two weeks, the best bet is to either use the bike, fit a trickle charger or put the alarm into storage mode.

As for the pin code, I have to count the flashes of the LED to enter the pin, but to get there the alarm will have triggered for thirty seconds. It is bloody noisy and not what you want at three in the morning!

To enter service mode or storage mode, I have to press and hold the two buttons on the fob for ten seconds. The alarm beeps once to tell me is set and the engine is immobilised.

The alarm shouldn't bring a brand new battery down to 8.8v in four weeks.

When I've disconnected the datatool alarm and reconnected it, the alarm goes off and the fob does nothing, stick some eat plugs in and press the buttons on the fob, eventually it stops and all is well.
