Dear god, with that lot I'm surprised you managed to pull over! IS this what they call slick tyres?

That mechanic wants stringing up! How much has left the engine, and did you catch it in time before totally knackered ?

Willing to bet the old filter came off, leaving the seal mated to the engine cases, and the new filter & seal were fitted on top, giving a double layer of rubber seals. This is not twice as good Generally under pressure the old one gets pushed to one side and the oil gets moving sideways!

As said by others, well done on keeping it up!

More than likely left the seal from the old filter on the mating surface without checking. I always wipe that area down before spinning a new filter on, that makes sure there's nothing left behind.

I wouldn't mind, I only took it in to get the shims checked, never even asked for an oil & filter change. I went in today and the manager of the company apologised profusely and paid for all the parts I got on Sunday, and is replacing all brake pads and any engine damage in the future he will rectify FOC.

That's pretty bad to say the least. What did the guy use to put that filter on? It looks scored.

thats some riding keeping upright with that slick on the tyre so how long has that taken to clean up.

No wonder the shop so apologetic, but dont let them service it for free
