The SACU licence is half day in classroom then half day on track being assessed.

Just adding that in as I maybe doing mine for next season

When I did mine, he actually went round if anyone was struggling & virtually gave them the answers lol.

Sorry if this is a silly question but do you do assessment once then just renew license? ACU pdf form says license runs jan to dec but courses at darley seem to be spring till autumn. I was thinking I could do mine this year to maybe do some test days before trying racing next season?

If you do your licence in say, June this year, then it will only run until the end of December this year, you will then need to renew it in January ready for that year.
You dont have to retake the test as long as you stay up to date with your licence.

Thanks mate, there is a date at darley in early aug that ties in with my shift pattern. Seemed a bit daft to do it then redo less than 6 month later. If I can't understand ACU website what chance have I with assessment? lol

Trust me it's a piece of pee
We all must be a bit simple to want to thrash bikes around a track, so they make it easy for us lol

Next job will be to sell gsxr and find another cheap sv to convert or find someone who fancies a swop/deal. Just about worked through it and sorted everything aswell, brakes, suspension, spare wets on wheels etc! I suppose it wouldn't be as much fun if I was loaded and could just go out and stick it all on the plastic.

My FZR cost me £400 & I had more fun on that than I think a lot of people had on their multi thousand pound racing bikes. I basically didn't give a damn about suspension settings or how aerodynamic the latest fairngs were. I din't even use tyre warmers as I couldn't afford them. All I did was check the tyre pressures & went out

Liking your style. Its the old school 'racing out of back of a transit' that appeals to me. Most of trackdays I have been on in last 12 month are like top end national race meets with quality of bikes and set ups! Feel like poor relative on old srad. Either I need a better paying job or there are some mega credit card statements out there.

Thats how to do it!
Berlin raced out the back of his van for 2 years

TD paddocks are getting bad TBH. Its one of the things putting me off them atm. Its just funny when guys in the advanced group on 1198 etc... get overtaken by people on CB500's and SV's
