One sensible thing to do is to photocopy all your documents (passport, tickets, ID) and swap them with someone else's. That way if one person's get lost at least you have all the details available to help get replacements. maybe even a copy left at home, which is only a phone call away.

Sensible? Don't all hire mopeds and go for the "On Any Sunday" experience on the beach.

Go enjoy dont worry to much. there will always be horror stories from everywhere, if you panic you wont enjoy it as much. On the hotel front you get what you pay for out there, some where half decent will be fine rather than a little hostel where all your stuff will go missing.

Don't take your proper wallet or cards out with you, lock 'em in the hotel safe with your passport and other important stuff. Have a crappy second wallet that you stuff your goin' drinkin' cash into, so it's not a big hassle if you lose it.

If you're unsure of the hotel, don't take anything tempting like iPods with you either. If you can, wear pants or shorts that have buttonable pockets so if you're falling all over the place your stuff doesn't fall OUT of the pockets!

And yes, extra thick condoms in case a particularly rancid ladygarden threatens to eat through it!

Im paranoid about this sort of thing. I have a copy of my docs ina PDF file on a memory stick in the hotel room, a set on a private email address that i could access anywhere and the PDF file on my phone hidden deep with in the phone and NOT called my documents, or Passport etc.

Always carry 20 Euros in your trainer/shoes when you go out...just in case like.

Other than that, i have never been on a holiday like that and probably never will. You will get drunk, do rude things to girls and have a hangover. Enjoy
