i think a single is the best way to start. simple single cylender engine and not alot of frame of complicated electrics to deal with.

just look at my dr350 build....although i went abit ott in place worth every second and penny of work.

To be honest I started with a crash damaged bike which was my first bike and it sort of grew from there.

There is no 'cheap' way of doing this kind of stuff as you tend to buy lots of tools and books.

As for doing up 'old' bikes and by old I mean before 1979 thats big boys stuff that I haven't acquired sufficient knowledge to tackle yet

Old bikes are no harder just things may be a little stiffer and stuck when they should move, no biggy.

but generally an engine is an engine a carb is a carb ect. Manuals can be found and downloaded free so find a bike you like or a style and start from there.

DT125 does sound good though and if it was sm'd ooooo im already excited.

1 is never enough. Especially when you have space in your garage for another

I have been thinking about sorting out a small capacity road warrior to use for getting to work and then wondered what could be done with a C90.

What inspired me to think of this machine was a link posted on this very forum eons ago ( I think by Lozzo ) for ex postal service bikes in Australia.
