Runs around 77-85 on the commute to work and around 90 degrees when I'm out on a quick ride.

can the sensor be changed/adjusted so the fans kicks in at a lower temp?

just curious if there's a procedure for it

No, solid state part. Maybe you could find a different sensor to work though.

I don't see why you'd want to though, the temperature ranges there seem perfectly sensible to me.

Yeah 88 is good. I had a problem with my rad a while back and sat watching it rise as far as 116deg! Thankfully I fixed the problem and don't seem to have encountered any consequences from it.
