Not that I would say ideal, but K3 is what you need. K5> definitely doesn't fit.

Thanks. Dont think I've got any issues but will drop a K3 one in the front at some point.

Oh right, cheer. I thought it was a desirable pre emptive move. Perhaps I'll wait until it starts rattling then. Saves me a few quid.

Got talking to another SV owner about this last night. He came over to me whilst I was filling up with juice and asked if I knew anything about the SV rattles and cam chain tensioners.

He has a light rattle from the engine on pull away which goes by about 4-5k, which mine has the same. He was told his engine needs looking at straight away and not to ride it? Someone else has said they all have a slight rattle and if the CCT is knackered it rattles on idle.

So he didn't know if he had a problem or not and I wasn't much use as mine sounded like it was the same as his any way. Neither bike sounded any different on idle.

I was pretty sure I remembered you saying some rattle was normal and searched for this post. Do our bikes rattle sound normal or is death imminent! Or what is the normal amount of rattle and where do you typically hear it?

I'll search the archives but I'm sure I remember from my last SV ownership you can check the CCT is free anyway or even wind it out and release it to be sure? Is that right or am I thinking of another bike?

I told the guy about the forum and hopefully the guy has found his way here to read this thread.

How do you describe what is normal on net lol?

Sign of bad rattle is if it gets a lot louder as revs are dropping. If it is just doing it at odd revs, coming in and out randomly, that is sign it is fine, just the spacer inside tensioner resonating when it fancies.

Lol, true. That answers it well enough anyway. Cheers.
