So. Spent some more time on Frankengixxer today in the glorious sunshine.
Managed to tidy up the cabling however it's not a tidy as I'd like. Its the fuse and relay thats normally mounted on the airtube. I can't mount it behind the radiator as the cable isn't long enough so have mounted it on the bottom yoke however this means one of the connector blocks is poking out over the radiator. Any hints or tips or something I've missed? Anyway here are some pictures to give an idea of what it will look like: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I cant help with any mechanical stuff as oiling the chain is about as much as I can manage, however I got chatting to a guy with an old Ninja the other day which he had streetfightered. The only clocks he had was a digital speedo from a push bike stuck on the yoke. He said it went up to 200mph!
Are you leaving the clip-ons on or fitting flat bars? EDIT: I mean the speedo read speeds of up to 200 mph, the bike probably didn't lol Last edited by L3nny; 10-06-12 at 06:16 PM. |

Looking at the front, you can build a bracket off the two lugs on the headstock
or buy this and jobs half done! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUZUKI-GSX...#ht_554wt_1060

Leaving the clip-ons...this is being done on a zero budget to be honest. Theres no way I'm going to mess around with buying bars, risers longer cables etc. The idea was to just mount the standard clocks and get that light on a bracket somehow.
I've just bought a sheet of stainless steel to build a bracket for the clocks and headlight. AS..I've already got the standard bracket which I planned to frankify and merge with the bracket I make from the sheet. Spent some time of the interwebs today and saw a bloke that had mounted the fuse and relay behind the radiator...thinking about it it may work out as the clocks are going to be closer to the headstock it should give enough slack to shift the block behind the rad. All very interesting and fun..unfortunately it looks like I have a bit of a wait until the sheet metal arrives and my next day off is a week tuesday..so plently of time to come up with some ideas.

mmm. so I could just buy a cycle speedo and use that?
That would mean I'd just need a bracket for the headlamp. Would still like to have Neutral, Fuel and Indicator lights too however..might go and look to see what there is.

Technically I don't think they are MOT-able.
