Well my s2 is dead, I was doing a firmware upgrade and when installing it it just locked up, spoke to samsung and it needs to go back to be reset bag turned up today nearly 2 weeks after i first spoke to them, muppets of the highest order. First time they never proccesed it properly then the company that fixes it, not samsung, sent the bag to the wrong address, and it finally turned up today, not really impressed.

Could be personal preference - Is the S3 bigger than the S2? I wouldn't want a bigger phone TBH, the S2 is nice and flat so it's not intrusive, but it still fills a pocket. The S2 is pretty perfect for me, I find iPhone screens too small, but anything bigger than the S2 and you may as well carry around a tablet.

Mobile phones are just about at the point PCs/Laptops are.

They are more than powerful enough to do 99% of what 99% of people want/need them to do.

People are now just stuck in the upgrade-cycle mentality, so need the newest/shiniest, when it doesn't really give them any advantage, other than prestige/bragging rights over their old phone.

Some mobile provider will give you a better tarrif if you renew with them and don't request an upgrade.

Saying that, counting the months - 9 - until my next upgrade

I can only just squeeze the S2 in my HG Sat Navy bag.and that squashes the usb charge plug.

+1, I have a handlebar mounted pouch on the XT as I use the phone for Ordnance Survey maps when green laning. The S2 only just fits.
