I think it all depends on what you are looking for while skiing or snowboarding

If you want guaranteed snow then somewhere like Finland, Norway or a glacier (Kaprun or Tigne)
Good off piste Les Arcs, Caneza, Selva val Gardena, Arraba (sella Rhonda) Courchevel

For long runs i would go anywhere on the alps Meribel, Val Thorens Courchevel

For other things to do (skido and husky trips) definately Lapland - If you go out of season when it is extremly cold you can have the whole hill to yourself

If money is an issue just do a allocation on arrival, i have been to some stunning places using this and obviously some dives too but the good out weighed the bad. Might even get to Canada on this method

I did not see santa as he did not visit the bar i was in

I also missed the northern lights as i came out of the bar and everyone was looking up and i was a little worse for wear and started to feel ill
