I don't like the rider positioning Mark. To me its a heavy lump, ok barge is a little harsh. I'm not a 14 stone bloke for start
![]() With my bike, the weird rider geometry turns the TL lump into a tiny flickable, fun machine. As for the suspension, one who is 9.5 stone doesn't tend to have issue with stock suspension on any bike, until of course you find particularly bumpy roads, and realise the ten yr old fork oil isn't doing its job properly :S I've always been a lover of the SV, in whatever size, but even the 650 is tiresome and awkward these days, as I've found a big Vtwin, that gels with me, a particularly silly one at times, but then that's just the nature of the beast, and you need to learn to tame it.....or yourself.

I don't like those forks, the ports are small in the pistons and it makes them harsh. Usual KYB issue. I've played with them before and ended up producing kowa's before I was happy with it as well as the usual OEM lack of rebound in most areas...

But I feel my OP might have been confusing, I loved it its the most ridiculous thing I've ever ridden! Been thinking about it all day and I'm seriously considering buying one, Its mental, no wonder every time Mark gets of his bike he's grinning like an idiot! Its almost like a child designed it, just a big noisy bike shaped bag of fun! ![]() |

been toying with the idea of getting the 1k as i find the 650 lacks that bit of oomph and i'm always ringing the neck out of it but i suppose that the fun sometimes. one of the biggest things that puts me off the 1k is the fuel consumption as its £40 every sunday for the 650 which i can manage but £60 would be a push or would mean no lunch/T.

SV1000 isn't economical, comical maybe, but definitely not economical.
Round town light on about 100ish miles, as soon as you leave the traffic 130-140 is more common, track day consumption is truly dipsomaniacal. That said some people manage to get worse figures from a 650 - I have no idea how.

haha.. funny Lozzo
seriously i only get the sunday to enjoy myself so i make the most of it ![]() i don't know how my bike gets so many miles to a tank and it does worry me sometimes, saying that i only weigh 13st. even the slowest rider in the group with a year younger bike doesn't get the same mileage. another interesting fact is that my speedo reads less miles than everyone else so i get even more miles e.g. if i'm out with someone and we both zero our bikes when filling up after 200 miles mine will read 190 miles. |
