The thing with a naked K3 is if it was not upright enough its only a few quid to get higher bars.

I only had one for a coupla days as a loaner. (And it was so good, ended up buying one, an S tho' as I already had a naked bike)

The naked also has lower pegs and nippier gearing and still quite narrow at the bars. All good for a commute.

Put a massive ghey grandad flyscreen on it and you'll probably never get stopped by the cops cos you'll look like a jolly sensible type. (You can always dump it in the "better" weather.)

I'm supposed to be out of that heavy price bracket being 27, 7 years NCB on my car and never having been involved in an accident but have 3 points from 2 1/2 years ago for doing 42 in a 30.

Sounds good, will be giving them a call today. The bike looks in much better nick than my current one and wont actually mind spending a bit of cash on it. As for the better weather, I need a bike that's not going to make me thrash it around like an idiot as I'm still in the "honeymoon" period with the acceleration and speed....

No bother. No I don't do PM's unless people are on my contact list, total strangers have no need to be sending me messages. Just remember computers can't dig you in the ribs and smile as you read a post.

Is this just to get you to work and back and nothing else? ie: you actually give a damn what bike it is, what it looks like, etc.

The reason I ask is it brings up a whole load of options if pride of ownership isn't important.

I got a job offer in London last year (80 miles one way) and didn't accept it in the end. If I had though I was dead set on a Honda Deauville, great mpg, great comfort, great weather protection, and shaft drive. But then I have a nice Daytona in the garage to make me smile at weekends.

You could also in that case look at maxi scoots, etc.

A Yamaha TDM is also worth a look.
