Back in my gardening days I was told If you don't know the answer and nobody else has given it keep asking questions until someone has an idea.

Actually, I did apply my RC car knowledge! I asked if the fuel line had become snagged/squished under braking when you entered the roundabout. To shut off an RC car you close a clip on the fuel line. The symptom is a burbly engine that revs higher and higher without throttle then shuts off.

Here, though perhaps you missed the edit. Either way, I did apply it!

#1 too much typing
#2 if you don't know how you deserve to be stuck on the side of the road! And I aint gonna teach the various knobheads on here how to fault find.

Oi little miss PMT. The purpose was to flush out the re-posters and identify those who will actually be useful in a "side of the road" situation. You yourself posted bemoaning the lack of basic fault finding skills demonstrated and this was an attempt to get some of those basic skills developed.

You will note that so-far we've had no responses from the "connect an oscilloscope to the dilithium generator" folks which is unusual for any post asking for suggestions for a fault.

In this instance I require no help in getting the bike going. I know what's wrong with it and how to fix it. As originally posted this is a trial of the practical diagnostic thought processes of the ORG contributors.

I am however disappointed that some folks give up immediately and phone for recovery without covering even the most basic checks but that is the subject of your previous rant back in August.

I'll post the actual activities after dinner this evening to give folks a chance to get there.

I also need to get a longer hex key for the tank bolts to make undoing those easier at the side of the road.

PS, hammer + WD40 could have been useful but I had neither!

It gets better... Fallout's just got a wrist slap for posting Not sure if the slap was actually for Thunderace for being a stroppy know-it-all or me for poking the break-down callers but either way Fallout got the blame and I've apologised for us all

Fallout just seems to attract bad publicity!

Yeah that was a bit weird, I read back through the thread and the only person poking fun was you.

I think it was the bit where I said about Mark expecting us to figure out exactly what bum cheek to scratch, or something. Or I could've been confused with Nathan, my nemesis again. Not sure.

Either way, the problem is we continue our in person banter on the forum, and to an outsider who doesn't know us, it may just seem like offensive behaviour to someone who's innocent. The irony being that I probably don't dish out as much abuse as I get from you lot. Normally because I'm too busy looking good.

Yeah, it takes you a lot of time and effort to look anything close to good, the rest of us do it naturally
