Btw, with respect, that what you've heard is a crock of ****, I truly believe they are no worse than any other manufacturer.

Food for thought, a lot of triumph owners don't just buy one, they buy triumph again, so they can't be that bad can they?

Plenty of triumph owners on here, I've had my sprint nearly 3 years and covered 13k miles, with the exception of brake discs, I haven't had a single issue.
That's good then, I think it's MCN's review that I read..

Some recent Triumphs, including the Daytona 675 have had question marks over their reliability and durability, which is why we haven’t given it a 5/5 rating, but overall none of this should put you off if you’re considering a Street Triple. For the price this motorcycle is very well made and has decent attention to detail.

Speak to Rictus on Hinkley Triumphs, he on about his 13th.
There was a few Friday 1050 engines but thats not very common (Orose and Bluefish both had issues fixed under warranties). Brakes are the only thing I've heard of being any problem, and there the same as any Japanese factory (Neighbours Kawa's been back 3 times for factory mistakes)

Anyways street Triple

It's done, it's a 2009/2010 Street Triple R I'm going for, I want the radially mounted brakes and so on

Apologies for buying into MCN, I'm pretty new to the whole biking game so I don't know my **** from my elbow at the moment

I'm only pulling your leg mate, best to get test rides and make your own mind up, mcn are a newspaper at the end of the day, they sometimes bend the truth

Naaah, heart set on a Street Triple R now, they look, sound and go exactly how I want...I'm in love. Don't think I need to worry about reliability either, I have AA cover that pays for repairs and what not now

Anyone any idea how much I'm looking at for a full service from Triumph? I'll want to keep the resale value up so will be taking it to a main dealer rather than doing it myself.

Major service is about £500 (going rate for anything european)
Minor would be under £200, oil change most will do it for £99

It's 6k or every year minor, these are relatively cheap, 12k service or every two years, it is for the sprint anyway.

I've seen prices for the 12k service range from £350-£750 depending on what dealer you take it to, valve clearance check is the expensive bit but a technician at triumph told me he's never had to shim/adjust a sprint at 12k, massive overkill.
