So from what people have said it could well be the levers that are causing this problem, well thanks for the replies guys!

I'll change them over tomorrow and go out for a ride and see if it makes any difference, if not back to the garage it goes!

And I've updated the first comment with the model/year and modifications that I think could effect this issue.

It is the clutch! Don't swap it over just set the little guide thing on the lever to be further from grips if you cant be arsed adjusting the cable

Well changed the levers over today and went for a ride, turns out it was the levers causing the problem, theres nothing on the ones from Hong Kong to push the clutch switch in

Sorted!

mine stalls all the time around 1200 rpm. Mines got original levelers but mine stalls because the clutch is probably dragging a little. best way to tell is if you start the bike up in first gear with clutch in. if the bike jolts forward the clutch is biting a little bit. This also makes it hard to go backwards while in first with the clutch in.

although in my case i managed to stop this problem, but then made my clutch slip with the clutch fully out asi had adjusted it too far in.

What? This will always happen a bit - it's a consequence of the way wet clutches are constructed.

I think you need to clarify what you're saying, if this were done with a cold engine for instance, there's probably no point to which the clutch could be adjusted that it wouldn't drag a bit when stone cold - as evidenced by your bike suffering clutch slip when you tried.
