Don't do what a lot of diy'ers do, spend a week or two filling, sanding and painting a rough wall having spent £50 on materials to realise it looks just as crap.

A very valid point there, many times I've painted rooms (at the customers insistence) only to come back a few months later with my plasterer to skim it all.

depend how rough it is. one of my all time favourite tricks is a car sponge and a loose mix of fast set. dip sponge in fast set and wash walls. once done go over with a sanding pole. any large holes i use a taping knife. quick and easy with decent results.
good plasterers are like hens teeth. |
