Timely indeed, I've witnessed 3 crashes in as many rides this week, thankfully all of them have been very minor.

So sorry you had to witness this, and I'm certain that your help would have eased their comfort. None of us like to think of the consequences of a mistake too closely but I feel certain I'd appreciate someone being there rather than not.

That's terrible Sid - I can't imagine what that was like.

I've only seen relatively minor bike crashes and they almost put me off riding as like you say, all it takes is a momentary lapse in concentration.

You've got to try and keep things in perspective I suppose. I experienced something similar once but there wasn't even a crash - a guy in his car ahead of me had a heart attack at the wheel and, despite the best efforts of a doctor who happened to be passing, he died there at the side of the motorway on a Monday morning in the rain - it was so grim. Life's precious and you've got to make the most of it while you can.

RIP to the rider.

And good on you Sid for having the knowledge to do what you can. I always think first aid training is the the ultimate in selfless acts, cos you'll never use it for yourself.

You did all you can do.
I've been in similar situations more than once, and it does stay with you.
Poor concentration, a lapse of judgement, or someone not seeing you or making an assumption can take us all at any time.
He didn't die alone, and you did all you could, he would have taken comfort in that.
If you need to talk, i, and others are here if you need that.

RIP fellow rider.

Sid well done in helping him, the thought that some one tried to help and was with him when he went will be a great help to his family.

Life's precious so all please ride safe…

RIP to the biker.

Sid, as others have said, this chap passed away being cared for by a stranger. I'm sure that gave him some comfort but I know it will make a world of difference to his loved ones.

Well done though mate I'm sure what you did was the best you could, a difficult thing to witness and deal with indeed. Hope you're alright too.

Jeez, that's a stark reminder of what dangers are out there for sure, thanks for posting this Sid, it might just make some of us think twice at the right time!

It must have been hard on you going through that (I can only imagine not having been through it myself) so please make sure you have all the support on tap that you can find.

RIP to the poor chap and any loved ones left behind
