That bike savings jar is a good idea. Going to steal it and do it myself.

15,000 miles out of 2k in fuel = 0.13 pounds per mile. Not too bad.

300 mile road trip would be £40

and I reckon a lot of those miles you are doing are in city/mountain roads.

That's 80 after you feed the jar.

My SK6 is costing about 25p per mile, with jar effect.

Oh right. Forgot the jar, it puts everything in perspective.

chucca told me not to at the start of this silly idea, now I find myself making random cost calculations whenever I glance at the odometer, grrrrr. Ignorance is bliss.

The cost might be low or might be high, depending on the person. The key thing is if that number is worth the experience and enjoyment.

Plus a cage would be more expensive in the long run.
