Straight pipe should be loudest, surely? ie no end can - I'm sure everyone who's ever fitted a slip-on runs the engine with no pipe, just to hear it.
I was actually a bit underwhelmed by my bike with no can, probably because it was outside. There's a youtube video of 2 lads doing the same thing with an SV1000 in a garage and their reaction is quite funny.

Not an SV but this ninja is surely the benchmark you're striving to emulate? It'd involve some custom work but If you could pull it off like these two seriously awesome badasses, then you'd be a hero no question.

Competition for the loudest SV's I've heard is Pete & Lissa's blue curvy with their home-made stubby can. It sounded like a Spitfire coming up behind you if it was on over-run! The other was the little Scottish chap who lived Reading way (forget his name now) who had some kind of Akropovich mega-phone affair that looked like the current moto-gp type side-exit exhaust. That was just fecking annoying though.
My SV was loud, but not on the same scale as Pete and Lissa's. I also think Y-C should get an honourable mention for his M4 system that sounded like thunder. PS. Nothing posted so far comes close to the SV's mentioned above.
