Camchain tensioners on a 4k bike? If there's a problem there, get it back to the dealer pronto as they're theoretically self-adjusting.

7500 mile service is a change of plugs and oil (not even a filter change). I wouldn't worry about the plugs (seriously) and just change the oil - so that's approx £10?

about £140 Dealer Price

About £100 Local non dealer bloke

I know not everyone wants to do their own servicing.

I paid £100 and got Dyno done @ same time £120 all in.

Turns out bike is running a little rich rather than lean

(shows how much i know about stuff)
73 BHP incase you were intrested.

It is £129 at Fowlers.

I know some guys here in Trowbridge who say that they would charge
half of what Fowlers charges. Can give you the coordinates of this garage
if you wish. But I personally wouldn't risk servicing my bike with them:
they look like pirates. On the other hand, my neighbour services his
GSX1400 with them and nothing bad has happened to his bike yet.

I bet there are similar seedy garages in Bristol that would be prepared
to service on the cheap.

The air filter has to be changed. A Suzuki air filter costs £15.21 + VAT.
One of the reasons the "pirate" garage I mentioned is cheaper is because
they use non-Suzuki filters.

A nice concept. At the end of the day all warranty work is down to the dealers helpfulness and perception. If they dont want to do it, they are under no obligation to do it.

For the record, mine was £87 all in

I bought the bike in Bristol... so thats the main reason Im asking about Fowlers.. other than that, I might take it to Swansea.. just thought that taking it to Fowlers, I could make a day out of it.. as I had to bloody well stay there nearly all day when I took it for its 1st service!!

I'll get all the major stuff done properly.. but I REALLY dont want to pay mega bucks for something stupidly simple like change the oil! and checking the air filter...

Ahh well, can start saving for next service now

Admittedly I was quoting for a K1/2 but I really can't see any difference. I didn't change my air filter till about 12k miles and didn't notice the slightest inprovement in carburation/performance. Either way it's not big bucks.
