When I got my SV, I got a quote for £1600.00 tft with 2 years no claims bonus. But because I bought my bike brand new, my dealer gave me a number with a special reference number and I got it for £515.00 tft. Get your insurance through your dealer, you will get it miles cheaper.
I had to prove that I had 2 years no claims but for some reason my insurance company only offered confirmation of 1 year to my new insurer so I thought I would have to pay the excess. Guess how much extra it was? £1.15p. They said dont worry its not even worth the administration cost! I cant believe a whole extra year gets me a £1.15 discount! |

I just got a quote with www.insurance2000.co.uk, new SVS pre registered, so a 2004 model, valued at £4000
2 yrs NCB 18 years old 1 Claim made (my fault- im my car) No convictions Carry pillions 4000miles per year Live in leeds Bike DataTagged Garaged when not in use TPF&T= £1148.98 with £250 excess Comp= £4527.98 with £550 excess I think i will give the full comp a miss, but the TPF&T dosent seem too bad, BUT the quote does not include the 33BHP kit, which eventhough it is making the bike slower it is classed as a performance modification and puts the insurance up ( i know this as i have got quotes with and without the 33BHP kit) Cheers SPeeeeDY |

i just tryed Motorcycle Direct online, that is one messed up site, i was askd what the largest CC bike i had been insured on in the last 5 years, i put 250cc, a later question asked CC on of new bike, i put 650cc, and was told that i can only ride a 250, whats all that about.
I was also asked what licence i had and how many years i have had my bike licence, I put i have had this licence for one year, but i have 2 years NCB as i was riding a moped for the first year on my CBT, I was told i cannot have 2 yrs NCB. I think i will just have to phone them, but it will take a lot to beat www.insurance2000.co.uk SPeeeeDY |
