The worse thing about all this is that NOBODY regulates this sort of behaviour againist the consumer because its not illegal.

Yes she did, and I was too shocked to come back with an answer, of course I was thinking about if I died - so at least she didn't jump in straight to the worst case like me LOL

Hi there.

I'm no underwriting expert, but it strikes me that an insurer should not be loading for non fault accidents. I say that not in the spirit of fairness, but simply that it makes no sense, and I have not heard of it before in the business, working for Directline at the moment and previously for Sabre Insurance. I have been in insurance for 7 years on the claims side of things.

Let me ring a "very" senior motor underwriter tomorrow (he's the guy at Direct line who I persuaded should allow bikers to transfer bike earned ncd to cars) before we all hastilly judge the situation.

It might be worth ringing your insurers and asking them for two quotes, one with the n/f accident, and one without to see if it is that affecting the calculation. - It may be something completely unrelated. For example, my insurance on my MG has just gone up, and I questioned it, and its because despite never asking for legal or breakdown cover (I can sort out my own legal problems!) they always add it at renewal apparnetly.

As for the chap reversed into by a motability driver - what 3 insuranbce policies are you ralking about with 3x £50 payments? I don't understand. Did you claim off your own insurer? If so, they will have recovered their outlay off motability (Morethan, a Royal Sunalliance Insurer) and you simply send them your excess receipt for £50 and they reimbuese you. Or you claim directly and there is no excess at all.

If you guys have any claims issues, feel free to email me.

PS There is a big bad database of claims, so if you have a n/f rta, and your bike is written off or you sustain injury, then that information is there for people like me to check). - MIAFTA2 for vehicle claims and claimants- CUE for PI

At the time of the accident the my insurance policy with Churchill was due for renewal, I had the renewal quote and was just in the process of ringing round when it happened, since I knew that the accident would complicate things I phoned churchill and explained the situation, the operator confirmed that the TP had accepted liability and it didnt make a difference to my premium, great I renewed on the phone there and then, woops! I didn't have that in writing and a fortnight later I got a request for £46 extra due to the change in policy, I phoned and tried to explain but the operator just kept asking me how I would like to pay!

Next I phoned my second insurer Direct Line (being a good boy) and explained about the accident, the operator came straight back with £46 extra due to change in my policy, I tried to talk to the operator about this loading but she just kept asking me how I would like to pay!

When I phoned round for my bike policy everyone I asked said that the second claim was hurting me to the tune of about 50 quid, including the company I went with Bennetts (although it was 25 quid in their case).

Just so you have all the facts I have 9+ NCD years on both my car policies and the car park bump was the second non fault claim in the past 3 years (1st one is 3 years old thursday, TP crossed me at traffic lights) and nothing else.

I left Direct Line many years ago because they refused to protect my NCD as I had had a fault claim and my wife (on my policy) had a fault claim in the same year, I was told this was standard policy for 2 fault claims in one year, but churchill didn't agree, sooner or later all insurance companies seem to mess me about.

Can I just say sorry to natasha - I feel like I've hijacked this thread and that wasn't my intention.

If you can talk him into the reverse of this you'll personally get all three of my policies at next renewal
And I'll take you for a meal and a night out

Was it a lot more for COMP as i was 19 when i got my first restricted SV and had 3yrs no claims riding experience and i Paid £1,550 with £500voluntary excess.

Your right about the sex
But if they group all men together as higher risk when they obviuosly vary.

And then group all women together as a lower risk when each individual gal clearly varies in risk. Its all playing with statistics to suit their (ins company's) financial agenda

Don't worry about hijacking post! LOL

A friend of mine seems to think that I won't be on the central claim database because I didn't actually claim on my insurance, I just used legal assistance.

I don't want to keep quiet incase I'm in the wrong (and if I do have an accident and my insurance doesn't pay out because I didn't tell them then it would only be me to blame), but nobody can tell me exactly how the claim thing works so I'm not sure what to believe but at the moment I'm thinking, I used legal assistance on a bike policy, so no insurance claim and what has that got to do with my car?

What a nightmare!

These insurance really doesn't make any sense, how can bike and car be related? car and bike are totally different beast. what if i get a jet ski and it got stolen, does that mean my car and bike insurance will go up?
