Anybody use these Indicator Caps or similar. Worthwhile?

I've been considering it as I'm extremely lax at checking.

you added 4psi cold or hot.... I have had tires gain 10psi between cold & hot, recommended pressures are for a cold tire

As a fair weather weekend rider I always check my tyre pressure before each ride.

Last weekend I was out with my brother who had just bought himself a 2001 blade with 2500 on the clock. (Why do people buy bikes and not use them, I do about 5000 a year weekend riding). after his first couple of miles he lost the back end, recovered and lost again a further mile down the road.

He already knew he needed a new rear tyre and had it booked in for last Monday for said tyre and a full service. But, I asked him if he had checked his pressures. "No never bother" this is a guy who has been riding since 77 and he don't check em. Granted he test rode my SV when I was buying it and U-turned at 100 yds and asked the guy to pump up the front so he is concious of the need for the correct pressure. I gave him my spare gauge when we got back to my place. For god sake it is only £6 for a digital gauge so why don't people bend their backs and potentially save their lives.

Also never believe the gauge on the inflator mine reads 40psi at 33. That is why I had a spare digital one. pumped up tyre, checked pressure next day with digital gauge and it was low. thought I had a puncture. Went to pump it up again and inflator said 33. bought a second gauge which read the same as the first. so decided the inflator was the faulty one.

I only clicked to read because I thought the post might involve a question that I might be able to help answer.

Oh, by the way I had to lube my chain today and adjust my mirrors, should I start a new thread?
