Thanks thats very kind of you to offer.

Richie I think you have a point, I'll get the battery tested at the weekend as that will tell me if I should look for other problems (luckily I only brought it 4 weeks ago so they will be replacing it free of charge if necessary!)

Luckily I have the use of a GSXR so I'll just have to cope with that......

No problems just let me know if you want to borrow it, battery is good and has been sat on an optimate in my kitchen for ages

Update!

I've finally found out that its not the battery, I've had it drop tested as suggested and it was fine. So we put the battery back in and left it running. With no warning it just stopped, so we tried to start it and there was no power to the starter motor however the ignition on was and the lights were on etc. So turned it off left it a moment or two and it started. It repeated this a few times so it leads me to believe it might be an immobiliser problem.

my mechanic is picking it up today!

Just tried to demonstrate the problem to the mechanic and it didn't do the fault. I can't believe it!
