Hope you and the bike are feeling better mate?
The more i ride, the more i hate car drivers, nearly got wiped out the other day by some bimbo driving while on the phone. Not good. Its a dangerous world out there........

Default Terrible Truth

Unluck mate,

Happened to me too and it is very frustrating, interesting to note a recent article in MCN that if you call the DVLA with the Reg number of a car and give them ample reason (eg they drove off after crashing into you) they will give you the name and address of the registered owner...then you go round with an exceptional large mate and "politily" inform them that they are liable for the damage to your bike.

You will usually get a good feel if they are responsible or not and can either push it or back off depending on what you think.

A mate of mine did the same thing and got full costs for the parts, if nothing for labour and personal injury.

Unfortunatly unless a system is brought in to record accidents (a camera fitted to the front of a bike that records and stores the last 2 mins of riding would be great!)

Though that still won't help if they are not insured, but the roadside cameras are cutting that down hopefully!

But if you know anyone who rides/drives without insurance, I would shop them.

Sounds harsh but at the end of the day they are going to be the ones that ride/drive off and leave you dying on the floor because they don't want to take the rap for their actions.
