Always use them on long journeys after some them fitted ones next time I see the people at a bike show missed the NEC.

I've always been a strong advocate of using earplugs and simply don't ride without them. However last night on my journey into Soho I'd spent ten minutes putting on all my winter gear and then realisaed I hadn't put them in
![]() ![]() The interesting thing was that I had very little wind noise as I was so wrapped up around the bottom of the helmet and the balaclava filtered out a surprising amount of engine noise! I arrived at Soho without ringing ears and was pleasantly surprised. . |

one of the best places to get plugs would be www.earplugs.gb.com I bought one of their trial packs - good value and you can decide which you prefer.
Ive just bought some Koss "The Plug" earphones which are earplug earphones. Tried them on with the shoei and they seem to stay in ok. Just need to try them out on the road now... |

Let us know how good they are as regards cutting out external wind/engine noise etc.

Sorry, I have very rarely worn them but don't often do long journeys though. I don't like that restricted/closed in sound feeling, it really puts me off.
Unless it's the height of summer I have a fleece necktube which is about 50 to 75% as effective. I am surprised to hear that Arai's are considered noisy. I'm used to my OGK which had a fair amount of low freq. rumble but it got damaged in the crash so I have been using my old Arai Rapide. It's so snug and quiet, worse than the effect of the plugs. Needless to say I'm looking at new lids..... |

I used to have an Arai Quantum E, it was fantastically quiet. I was so impressed that when it was time to replace it I got the Quantum F. Boy what a disappointment that was.

I hardly wear them... don't like the feeling.... But these days I am using a scarf and it's leaving me amazed how beautiful is the sound of the SV without the wind noise.
