I'm a massive fan of this way of thinking and there's always a bin liner and cargonet under the seat, but with my sense of direction a clear map pocket is a must, and it's nice to just pull the whole thing off the tank when doing short hops rather than sod about with bungees. Only down side is a scratch on my tank I'm convinced I got picking up a nail or bit of shrapnel on the magnetic base and then puttingit on the tank.
