Not sure that "just after the weld" is descriptive enough. If I were reading that I would then go out and cut the can literally just behind the weld. That would not leave enough room for the new can to fit over the original pipe that you have left.

Cut the pipe about 50mm or 2 inches behind the weld toward the rear of the bike.

yea I thght that when I wrote it then got into the TV !!


but maybe someone would do a bit more research Si b4 goin out and hackin their bike up.!

needs be a few inch from the weld if I recall..


Apologies if yer bike is now in pieces !!!

I was given a really good well I thought it was tip about cutting your exhaust last night by Tee Jay. He reckons that if you go to Halfrauds or some such simialr place and buy a jublie clip. Attach that to your exhaust at the point you want to cut it. Then use the jubliee clip as a guide to keep your cut straight if you are using a haxsaw otherwise you end up with a wonky cut like I did.

The other thing to watch if you are using a haxsaw, is to watch for your heel plate otherwise you end up with cuts in them again like I did.

A wonky cut is not really that much of a drama, when the new can goes on, you wont even see the cut. Good idea though.
