I like riding in groups for rideouts and stuff, and on my own for the odd mad blast.

Id love to ride with a couple of mates over to Ireland for a long weekend, but non of them are up to riding any further than 100 miles in a day, and are all fair weather riders.

i need to find some more friends lol

On my own because

a) I have no mates :P
b) No one can criticise my slow/bad riding

I do most of my riding alone these days or maybe with one other rider and I prefere it to group outings.I'm probably over aware of the risks riding in groups so go too slow to compensate.A great deal of self discipline is required when riding in a fast group, and I no longer enjoy it much.

I like riding in small groups with people i know and trust, not a fan of big rideouts with lots of riders.
I don't really like riding twisty roads by myself as i'm always worried that i might come off and never be found (just a silly thing after i came off twice last year). But riding in a group is more sociable, but i don't like leading as i feel more self concious about my riding and i can't "get into it" as well as i'm worried about getting lost, but don't mind being in the middle of the group.

I only ride alone. Unless you have intercomms I don't see the point in riding in a group. I consider it dangerous as it usually results in one of the riders going quicker than they are comfortable with or taking risks to keep up.

Went on some rides with a mate about 12 years ago but haven't done it since. I found I wouldn't (as opposed to "couldn't") keep up as I felt he was going to quickly around blind corners and past junctions etc whereas I leave a far greater safety margin.

Now I go at my pace with my concentration entirely on keeping myself alive.

I never ride in big groups, I tend to ride on my own or in 2's mostly. I do find if I go out on my own a fair bit I don't go as fast - I enjoy the riding more than the speed when on my own.

Unless it's the Annual Rideout, I really only like to ride in small groups (preferably with people I know well). Riding solo is fine, but I tend to get bored after fifty miles or so, but when in a group mileage is (generally) unimportant.

I think I ride better on my own because Im not thinking about anyone else - but its definately better socially going out with a group - always used to try and do a bit of each and will do again soon

Prefer riding with someone, purely so you can watch, learn from each other, and bitch about each other at the next caff.

I like both, going for a buzz on my own is fun certainly but I enjoy a moderate size group run too.

In a group speeds go down, not up, choosing the right people to go out with is the important factor, and anyway in groups it always seems to be that we're stopping all the time for tea, more tea, lunch etc etc.

Which is fine with me.
