got a data 3, came with the bike, may not stay with it !
seems you have to turn it to service mode to work on or wash the bike, it then beeps every 15 secs not annoying at all !!
gonna have to find a way round that one.
what ***** thought "lets make it beep every 15 secs when you want to work on the bike, they`le like that"

I've got a Data 3 and pressing the oval (larger button) on the key fob when the alarm is armed lets me move the bike, clean etc without it going off and no annoying beeps every 15 seconds (it's probably wired in wrong though!)

It's not wired wrong it's supposed to be like that so you can clean it, etc like you say. The annoying beep is when it's in service mode ( so you can take the bike to bits). Apparently the number of beeps tells you if the bike's been tampered with (nudged or moved, attempted hotwiring, etc.) but it doesn't seem to be very accurate on mine.

Agree with Northwind: no-one hot wires a bike to ride it away, so immobilisers are a waste of time. Alarms are great as long as you run your engine at least once a week to stop the battery from draining, and you are always in earshot and always awake....otherwise no-one hears it or takes any notice as the bike is slung in the back of a van.

For £300 or so, you can buy a LOT of really good strong chain....or a big dog.

IMO of course.

Ah, meant to say, the one thing an immobiliser's good for is if you're like me and leave the keys in the seat lock all the time
