What you save on purchase price you will spend (and then some) on:

- Extra servicing for regular piston / ring changes
- Repairs when the thing seizes up
- Recovery (as it will seize when you're at the farthest point from home on a ride out)
- Alternative transport for the time when it's off the road.

Thats my 2p worth

One of my first bikes was an unrestricted RS125. It was a lovely looking bike, but truth be told, took a lot of looking after and, was a pig to ride on the road. Dont be fooled by the fact that it is still only a 125. Whilst incredibly fast for such a small engine, it had trouble keeping up with my fathers shaft driven Honda 500 let alone an SV.

i wouldnt really call it a bargin comared to other 125cc bikes.

esp for a couple of quid more you can get yourself a brand new Sv compared

Comparing the price of the baby Aprilia's to that of the Sv is just completely missing the point. The Aprilia gives top notch spec and so damn close to a race bike but yes the odd hiccup is always likely. It's the buzz of owning such a bike that cannot be calculated in currency.

If I had the spare cash floating around right now, an RS250 would be purchased in the blink of an eye.
