What they all said.

They count for 3 years as far as totting up towards 12 points goes.
You can ask to have them physically removed after four years. This normally costs, but if you're changing your address, it's much cheaper (free?) .

I moved house a while back, and held off changing my license details until my previous SP 30 ran out. But then 3 years and 363 days after that offence I got another one. Oh how I laughed.

That's what I thought too - BUT, what's actaully the point in getting them physically removed if they're spent after a certain period of time anyway? I've got 9 points, six spent and am wondering whether it's worth spending the cash to get em wiped if I still need to declare for insurance etc.
