Possably running the full circuit with its corners an all, but still it has some good straights on it where the SS6 would fly.

Unless it was really an SV1000? That could almost keep up with the SS600's and would have a lot more low down grunt.

You want to set a poll up for that Tim(well everyone else does). ie wrong times or ewoks.

I think the Performance bike test route is set out differently though. Even then I'll still strugging to believe it.

Cheers
Ben

On a track like lydden the diff between SS6 and V2 is very very small, its only a 1M track though. So its all possable, you never know.

Code:
Twins/Triples 76.89mph Mal Sampson 43.30 secs Adam Lewis

Supersport 600 81.99mph Shane Byrne 43.11 secs Shane Byrne

Rookie 600 80.02mph Shane Byrne 43.74 secs Shane Byrne

Superbike 750 82.11mph Dave Redgate 42.99 secs Jason Sear

bruntingthorpe has lots of looong straights though - more of a snetterton than a lydden:

CLASS COMPETITOR DATE MACHINE TIME MPH
Mini TwinsCLUB Chris Firmin 12-Oct-03 Suzuki 1:16:27 92.135833
Supersport 600 CLUB Phil Seaton 2-May-04 Kawasaki 1:11:24 98.641213

I was going to say that if Shakie managed an average of 81.99 mph on the SS600's then surely the times would have been quicker than an average of 76mph that the twins did?

I believe with Bruntingthorpe being an old airfield and test facility that there are numerous configurations to how it can be set up wrt corners etc, worth checking in a past issue what circuit set up PB use. I think they say that with the rough surfaces it is more like a road than a race track.

I am sorry even if all straights or all corners (everything else being equal) a SS6 is faster than a SV, end of ... its not really worth arguing/pondering on.

Good old Journo BS and twisting of the facts* to make people buy their mag!!

*It probably rained just after the SV run or summin!!
