We switched to SE this time last year.

There was a mix up with our first gas bill - they wanted over £500 for a quarter !!

After I'd been resuscitated, I called them to ask if they were sure & was told "Ah, you haven't received the 2nd letter yet then ? The one telling you that we've made a mistake ".

Er, that would be a "No" !!

Apparently they'd f*cked up on the switch over readings or something (complicated by the fact that we'd had new meters fitted just before we changed) - anyway I got the quarter's gas & electricity for £50 by way of an apology !!

No problems since at all

I swapped from british gas and powergen to southern electric and they've been a hell of a lot cheaper and much less hassle.

Similar problem when I moved into a flat some years ago and Brittish Gas b*ggered up the inital reading on their records - result £665 bill for 3 weeks gas The numpty on the phone really didn't have a clue what he was doing as he asked "how many radiators do you have? Do you leave your heating on overnight?...." Took 'em weeks to sort it
