The US SVs don't have a speed limiter. But a lot of SVs won't rev out in top simply because the wind and rolling resistance becomes too much for the engine to overcome- depends on the rider and the health of the engine. Mine'll rev out in top, but relatively few people claim that...

This may sound silly Buck but who did you buy it off ? was it a newly passed rider it could still have the restrictor fitted.

Ooh, sorry, didn't notice the location. That's one of my pet hates too

I have no idea about canadian models, I'd be quite amazed if they're speed restricted but it's not impossible.
