Cheers guys,
I have been gripping with my knees and trying to sit more upright but seem to slip back into the slouchy position, I think its a combination of all of your valid points, getting used to it, adjusting the levers (definatley going to look at that) posture etc. Not being used to a more sporty riding position having been a bandit pilot before. I bought myself som Boxers wrist supports today which seem to help but are bloody hot inside the gloves.
My general riding position is quite comfortable just the wrist ache and neck (old injury) other than that its fine.

Thanks for the feed back anyway.
K , Im hopefully gonna be at AR07 so as long as your stick isnt to big you could prod and poke me whilst there if your going!!!!!!!!

Cheers

Glad it's not just me! Picked up SV650S (minus fairing) yesterday - first bike. Putting it down to gripping too tight through nerves!

Amazingly I have had 5 bikes before the SV and everyone has murdered my wrists. The SV doesn't seem to affect me.

All the others were SS600's though.

I had the same problem until I
a) moved the levers down a bit.
b) improvised (bit of fuel line and a cable tie) a reach adjuster for the clutch

Be careful of the brake fluid resevoir (def on a naked, not sure about S) if you move it a lot as you can end up with it at an interesting angle leading to brakefluid everywhere next time you take the lid off.

The alignment thing works a treat on pushbikes too. Used to do a lot of cycling and was the first thing I adjusted with anyone who complained of wrist ache. Fixed about 90% of them.

You may be gripping too tightly. As well as trying to put more weight through your legs and gripping with your knees, when going along just stretch your fingers every now again.

Yeh could be nerves aswell!!! Can do corners much faster than the bandit, that was like turning the Ark Royal !!!
Just been out and checked lever positions, they DO need adjusting as im having to move to get them.

Funny i'm also immune when it comes to wrist ache, it gets me in the back of the shoulders and neck, but i'm putting it down to being in front of the puter all day.
Have noticed tho, as I ride more, gripping the tank with your legs and relax your arms/ shoulders does help a great deal, especially on twisty roads.
