I doubt the riding is what gives Toseland good muscles - he'll train as well. You'll burn a few calories, but really more by staying warm than real physical effort. Unless you ride off-road, there's some work for your asss.

You didn't perchance see that in Glamour/cosmo or something? They had naked blokes in one section and one was Toseland I think. REALLY muscular but lean!! I think you do lose weight whilst racing, but it's probably negligable if you are just riding somewhere normally.

I remember that. Their figures seemed very high to me, approx 500 Kcals/hour I think. However this was for full on riding a sportsbike as hard as you can, climbing all over it etc. I reckon normal riding would be much much less.
