no worries jans,

i went from a zip125scoot to a full power sv650s, before that the fastest id ever been was 67mph on a cg125! going from that too in excess of 120...was a bit of a jump.
and the acceleration is wicked!

have fun, dont push it get ussed to it

others have explained the "blipping" way to deal with it,just make sure the clutch is in when you blip!

you'll do it anyway cos it sounds fooking ace!
Sounds even better with an aftermarket can

blipping will not take you long to master, I would imagine that 90% of people do it on bigger bikes so its not specific to the SV. Vtwins (engine configeration of the SV) do tend ot have harder engine breaking than inline 4's (like Gixers and Ninjas and the like)

Congratulations of passing your test.

Dont let all this talk of engine breaking and blipping the throttle scare you. Just take it easy and get used to your bike, dont expect too much of yourself too soon, it takes a while to get the hang of things and dont ride beyond your capabilities.

Enjoy your bike

Welcome to the ORG!

Once you get used to the engine breaking you will know when to expect it. I scared the life out of me first time (before I joined the org), then I found out what it is and how to deal with it. Now I use it to my advantage, I never blip, but that's just because I like the engine braking. Oh yeah and I've only been driving since Nov last year and forget.

As I am sure you will have seen this place is full of really nice (helpful) people. I honestly don't know where I would've been without it.

One more thing ENJOY!

im looking for a rear hugger and a seat cowl .
my i also recomend a fenda extenda.(£20)...... its just i littte piece of plastic that extends your front mudgaurd, this will stop water getting into the front plug.

& crash-bungs (£80) if you were to drop the bike these will take moat of the impact, & possibly save your plastics, & engine

Seat cowl - Suzuki Dealer £42, be careful of Ebay things sometimes seem to go for more than they are worth. So always check the OEM stuff prices first.

I was lucky and got my hugger off of here, so always try the for sale section here too.

Just to add to you shopping list - bar ends saves snapping your levers or whatever if you drop it. I bought R&G's they look godd and are sturdy.
