I got fed up with mine as well.

A bit of wet dry, elbow greese and Halfords finest clear lacquer

Before and after wet dry

After lacquer

I know it's not as sexy as Lissa's front end but it's much better than before

Both look really good!

Lisa, I'm not sure I'm keen enough to polish them like that. It would use up valuable riding time.
I could sent you my forks if you fancy doing them for me!

I could live with the wet'n'dry version though!.

Has anyone tried Plastic coating?

Carl

Mine didn't take as long to do as you might think. They weren't as bad as toonyanks to start with, but I got them looking like that in 3 hours

Feel free to send 'em..................I have plenty of spare time in the evenings!

What did you polish them with Lissa? Did you strip of the old coating first?

Yes, I used Nitromors to strip the old laquer, then used my polishing wheel and graduated polishing compounds.

You can get a great finish using progressively finer wet and dry and then solvol autosol though.

Those look awesome LIISA. ALSO, Toonyank, nice one. Might give that a go. I take it better to do it with the wheel off?

I got my old ones powdercoated black, it's more durable than paint... But you need to dismantle the forks to do it. The actual cost of the coating was about £20. Ideal opportunity to fire in some springs of the right rate while you're at it
