I wants a Benelli Due 756. Oh yes. It's weird, even a year or so ago there were no bikes I wanted more than my SV, except maybe the R1200S but I couldn't fit it in the garage... now there's 3 (Shiver, Street Triple, F800) and another on the way. Progress! Expensive progress!

The Shiver looks nice but seems to fare poorly in the tests - Superbike mag gave it a poor rating against the triple. The F800 is just plain ugly. The SV is a much better looking bike, and besides, its even more angular than a pointy!!

The F800S's ugly, but it's the right ugly THe ST's not so good though, it looks like a bit's dropped off.

Talking Re: MCN SV vs Street triple vs BMW F800s vs Aprilia Shiver

I don't take any notice of what's in the bike press, most is very slanted, always raving about the lastest mega bike, 1/2 a gram lighter and a gnat's **** more bhp. MCN always seem to be very much on side of Honda as well. As for Triumphs I've had 2 from new a 2k Sprint St; put 33k on it in 3yrs. Never let me down apart from punctures and a broken chain and it wasn't the link that went, it just snapped after 2k miles and had a slow running problem after a 'technician' serviced it. I traded it in for a 03 Daytona 955i. Destroyed it after 22k miles in the middle of a 5 car pile up 'OUCH!!! again no problems. After a year's forced absence I got on my daughter's SV650 and for 95% of the time I don't miss the extra power and think the SV is probably one of the best bikes you can get. If it can haul my rather large frame around and bring a huge grin to my face it must be brilliant for the average bloke, but then I'm probably preaching to the converted!
