A bike is usually quite a heavy weight and is quite slidy when going down the road, whereas a person will usually come to a halt earlier. When I had my last road crash I got by boot caught on my footpeg and I could feel that I was being dragged alobg the road by it, which isn't a nice experience. Also, being strapped to a large piece of metal that's being twisted and ripped sounds like a recipe for disaster to me...

Mrs J doesn't believe anything I tell her any more because:

1. Shortly after we were married I told her that helicopters had ejector seats that fired downwards.

2. Soon after that, on a visit to Disneyland Paris, I told her that the French for Mickey Mouse was "Mickey Poulet"..... and yes, she did go and ask for a t-shirt...

Now my kids have caught on to the fact that 99% of the time I'm not being serious. Not a problem except for the 1% of the time that I am.
